The employee answers the telephone; provides information to contractors, builders, and homeowners regarding the building permit process; receives building plans and permit applications and reviews documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submitting; calculates and accepts applicable fees and issues receipts; researches contractor license numbers; schedules inspections; prepares certificates of occupancy; issues approved permits; balances receipts and prepares daily deposits. The employee also receives septic and well permit applications and performs research on property owners, titles, and septic permits for homeowners, and realtors.
