The purpose of this part-time position is to perform level life support, transport, stabilization procedures, and emergency medical care at the Basic Level in the Emergency Services program of the Clay County.

Duties include but are not limited to: serving as operator of emergency medical unit responding to calls for assistance and transports patients to medical facilities; administers basic level of life support techniques and procedures based on
patient assessment; gathers patient medical and insurance information from the patient, family members or bystanders and inputs into the computer; completes necessary records and reports for emergency calls including information for billing documentation, and legal accountability.

Applicants must have a certification by the State of North Carolina as an EMT at the Basic Level and ability to obtain certifications such as Basic Life Support,
International Trauma Life support, and Advanced Stroke Life Support certifications within timeframes established by the County. Shift hours are required and includes nights, weekends and holidays.
